How We Can Help

Stack Gives Back

Everyone knows someone who has been impacted by cancer. We are no different.

Our friends and family need our support and love, so here, at Stack Solutions, we are partnering with Okta For Good to make a real difference in the lives of cancer patients and survivors.

As the COVID-19 pandemic sweeps across the nation, those impacted by cancer are being forced into extreme isolation. As an immunocompromised group, cancer patients and survivors are the most at risk of death, leaving them suspended in a state of fear and seclusion until the epidemic ends. Now more than ever, we need to be supporting our friends and family impacted by cancer by finding ways to bring together the cancer community despite the physical distance.

Recently, we have partnered with the non-profit organization, Adventure Therapy Foundation, to help combat the emotional traumas faced by families impacted by cancer.

ADVENTURE THERAPY FOUNDATION

The Adventure Therapy Foundation (ATF) is a nonprofit that exists to minimize isolation, fear, and a broken identity in families impacted by cancer. In the past, they have done so by inviting cancer survivors and their loved ones to participate in fully-funded, meaningful outdoor adventures like hiking, kayaking, zip lining, and more. Each adventure is designed to encourage the individuals impacted by cancer to step beyond the confines of their comfort zone, experience the healing of the outdoors, and strengthen them in the unknown.

Now, Stack Solutions and Okta For Good have joined the ATF in a new project that will adapt our mission to the challenges posed by COVID-19.

THE "RISE" PROJECT

The Rise Project aims to further advance the goal of combating the emotional traumas of cancer by making the solution available to cancer survivors and their loved ones across the United States. We are launching the “Rise” application, which is a location-based community app that incentivizes cancer survivors to engage in face to face meetings and utilize their local nonprofits' resources.

From inside their homes, anyone affected by cancer can open our app and see the nearest support centers, the events being hosted that week, and the number of other individuals in the exact same situation. The Rise app is designed to connect the cancer community in a way that encourages those affected by cancer to step outside and redefine their identity. It will chase away the feelings of isolation and give people the courage and support they need to rise from their circumstances.

No other solution exists to effectively forge this connection within the cancer community. There are thousands of cancer support organizations that want to provide support but struggle to publicize their events. We aim to connect these organizations with the 1.8 million people surviving cancer in the United States - and their loved ones - to combat the emotional burden of cancer. The Rise app provides an original solution that will transform cancer support across the United States into an easily accessible resource.
